Aerospace Industry Expert Joins the AeroDynamic

Richard Aboulafia, an aircraft industry veteran, has joined the consulting team of AeroDynamic Advisory, effective January 1, 2022. He will work for the consultancy as a Managing Director. Richard has worked as an analyst and consultant on aircraft programmes, markets, and enterprises since 1988. He oversees consultancy projects in commercial and military aviation, as well as market and industry trends in the defence and aerospace industries.

He has counselled a number of aerospace firms around the world, including the majority of major prime and OEM aircraft manufacturers, as well as a number of sub-tier suppliers. He also provides market analysis to financial institutions and governments. Richard was the Vice President of Analysis at Teal Group from 1990 to 2000, where he authored and edited the “World Military and Civil Aircraft Briefing,” a forecasting and analysis tool that covered over 135 aircraft programmes and markets.

Prior to that, he worked at Jane’s Information Group, where he researched the jet engine business, as an aerospace industry consultant for an international trade consultancy firm, and at the Brookings Institution, where he supported research initiatives. He graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in War Studies from King’s College, University of London. He currently resides in Washington, DC.
