CSAF Puts Forth a Visionary Approach at Tinker AFB

Chief of the Staff of Air Force, Gen. CQ Brown, Jr accompanied by his spouse Sharene visited the Tinker Air Force Base. The aim was to understand the installation’s diverse missions, and meet the Airmen.During their visit, the CSAF was provided brief overview of the current operations, and initiatives at the base. Representatives also discussed the role played by Tinker AFB in maintaining the readiness across Air Force.

When visiting the Oklahoma based Air Logistics Complex, Gen. Brown visited the F135 Heavy Maintenance Center. He observed the significance of production gates along with understanding the constraints of the team. Brown was also briefed of B-52 Stratofortress modernization further discussing the sustainability aspects of the fleet.

Brown was able to experience the advancing technologies at the Reverse Engineering and Critical Tooling Lab. He got to see the OC-ALC’s innovative manufacturing techniques up close. Brown was able to understand how agencies such as Air Force Sustainment Center accompanied with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center collaborate efforts with Rapid Sustainment Office.

Brown also toured through the 552nd Air Control Wing where he received an overview of the wing’s mission along with the training methods, and infrastructure details. Mrs. Brown acquainted herself with some members of the Key Spouse program during her visit. She discussed Airmen morale, and welfare with the members. She also met with the caretakers at the Child Development Center understanding the current challenges addressed by the dependent day care facilities.
