The United States and Japan vowed to deepen the defense ties voiced to Combat the growing threat of China and pledged to work together against Chinese government attempts to destabilize the region. This information from both the allies was given following a virtual meeting undertaken between the foreign and defence ministers. Foreign and defence ministers expressed deepened concerns about China’s growing dominating role in Taiwan. The political, technological, economic challenges in the region were discussed during the meeting. Combat strategies and approaches to respond to destabilizing activities in the region were also discussed.
Before the meeting, US and Japan planned a new defence deal fight against emerging threats such as hypersonic missiles and space capabilities. During the meeting Tokyo also explained its plan to revise the national security strategy to scale defence capabilities. The foreign and defense ministers stressed other crucial issues with each other.
