NASA captures spectacular celestial pieces in space

The SOFIA telescope of NASA has captured spectacular images of celestial pieces in space. NASA posted the images captured by the SOFIA (Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy) telescope. In the caption, NASA wrote that the SOFIA telescope is one of the largest airborne telescopes in the world that has taken more than 900 flights since 2020.

The SOFIA telescope captured 4 images. The first image is of the Centaurus A galaxy. Centaurus A galaxy is the one with red and orange dust lanes surrounded with blue fumes on the outside. Second post by NASA is a 3D image of Orion Nebula that shows the Nebula much more clearly along with the bubble blown with clear gas and dust by  exceptional winds.

The third image captured by the SOFIA telescope is of the Cigar Galaxy. Along with the four images of the Omega Nebula. The SOFIA mission began in 1996 when NASA collaborated with the German Space Agency (DLR). However, the first flight of SOFIA was in 2010. But it received its full operational ability by the end of 2014. In 2020, the telescope discovered water on the surface of the moon, which is a great achievement on its own.
