SpaceX Launches 105 Small Satellites Into Orbit

With the launch of 105 small satellites into the Orbit, it becomes the second successful of SpaceX of the year. The two-stage Falcon 9 rocket was launched into the blue sky from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The rocket launched carried a number of satellites. Around nine minutes after the launch, the first stage returned to the Cape marking 102nd overall recovery.

This mission named transporter-3 was SpaceX’s third mission in the rideshare program. The rocket was expected to disperse 105 satellites into the Earth’s polar Orbit which circled Earth an hour after the launch. The satellites will examine the earth on a daily basis.

This was the second mission of SpaceX in 2022 and second within a month from the same launchpad. SpaceX has planned more launches in a row in near future. The booster designated with B1058 has carried five different groups of SpaceX’s own Starlink internet satellites to the Orbit. The first rideshare program was announced in 2019.

It gave a big opportunity for the small satellite operators to launch their satellites in the Orbit. SpaceX has offered $1 million per launch. SpaceX is planning to launch two Transporter missions per year.  Interestingly, the rideshare program is expected to double the launch rate. With the launch of 105 small satellites into the Orbit, it becomes the second successful of SpaceX of the year.
