U.S. Army To Bring Advancements With New Cloud and Data Capabilities

The US Army is planning to bring advancements to the defense system with new cloud initiatives. Advancements in cloud and Data Capabilities is the top priority of the U.S. Army this fiscal year. The Army plans to start building the US Army a digitally competent organization. According to the service’s chief information officer, the US Army is going to start integrate more cloud capability and capacity. The US Army is looking to make it more expeditionary through a Command Post Computing Environment.

Command Post Computing Environment, is a web-enabled system that integrates current systems and programs into single user interface. The mission is to bring data from multiple channels and system into single system for better analysis. Modernization of interface and data platform are key goals set by the US Army.

The Army officials during a virtual presentation at hosted by AFCEA’s Northern Virginia chapter on Jan. 13, explained how certain units are playing a key role in deploying and developing cloud and Data Capabilities. The Army officials said that they are working actively with units that are allowing examine the mission threats and operational scenarios using the cloud initiatives. The service will focus on operational use cases of the cloud capabilities.
